They snatched that baby on the front steps of the school…
His father drove 3 hours in the wee hours of the morning and they snatched him right on up out of our arms.
Talk about ripping the band-aid off. I was so traumatized. Homegirl literally stopped us at the door like, Is he a kindergartner, come with me buddy.
NO MA’AM!!
I did remember to pray with him before he went into the building but uh, yea….that was it.
Traumatizing. To put it simply, it was traumatizing. At least for me any way.
Daniel was just fine. He was excited. He was ready. He was dressed “sharp” (his words not mine). He walked right on in and that was it. I had the hard time, not him.
I can’t wait to see him this afternoon.
I remember those days. It’s hard, much harder on us parents than the kids though. He’ll be just fine. Hope he has a great first day. 😊

He will be,
I think I should add a few lines about us as parents not projecting our fears and concerns onto our carefree and adventurous children, especially at such a young age.

That’s a good point. Like little birds, they have to learn to fly. This is a big step in that process. He’ll have lots to tell you about today, I’m sure. 😊

I thought I would be ok. I was excited for him too, especially seeing how excited he was. But I guess I was just unprepared for it to happen so abruptly.
